Cramming microscope hours, mapping, writing, museum volunteering & maths around a 9-5 job was absolutely exhausting. I can’t thank my friends, colleagues and tutors enough for their support and patience over the last 4 years. The Open University is truly incredible and has changed my life 💙

13 years ago I left my Russell Group Chemistry course with nothing to show for it. Undiagnosed Autism/ADHD tried to end me & I couldn’t afford to resit, so I left.

Yesterday, I accepted ANOTHER first class degree. This time, I finally got my science degree (a better science too 🤪)

Using all my annual leave for study isn’t all bad 🥰 Chilling by the pond in the sunshine. Typical that my one year without fieldwork the weather is flawless 🤣 I promise not to go on fieldwork again #OpenUniversity

I finished the spring wreath in spring which is nothing short of an ADHD miracle & it’s been a joy to crochet each of its individual parts ticking them off as I go but it turns out I don’t like the finished project 😂🤣 My constant dissatisfaction with my own work isn’t limited to my degree it seems…

It seems all museums can now relax @nhm-london.bsky.social caught #FeathersMcGraw before he found his way into The Vault- he’s trapped in the Darwin Centre with a She-Wee 😂🤣

One of the best things about leaving teaching has been having the time/energy to volunteer in the things that spark joy. Working a full day in the office and then popping down to @sedgwickmuseum.bsky.social and chatting fluorescence in the minerals gallery was the perfect end to my day 🤩

Too tired to function so I built a Lego T.rex footprint…as it’s apparently #InternationalLegoDay it would be rude not to. Skull still to build but 0530 alarm says no
