Hitman: Agent 47 - while by no means good, wasn’t *that* bad, either. Comparisons to the prior year’s John Wick, and/or Friend’s much better conflicted-assassin character in Homeland certainly didn’t do it any favors, and the plot was a mess, but it was a fun enough watch with a beer or three handy.

Fighting my way down a rotating hotel hallway in the slumbering mind of the Spelling Bee Editor, in an elaborate heist-within-a-heist to place the idea in his/her subconscious that it wouldn’t hurt to consult a dictionary occasionally when composing these puzzles.

Stefan Fatsis’ “Word Freak” is a fascinating dive into competitive Scrabble. I suspect it still holds up, despite being 20+ years old

The MAHA messaging attending the decision - that we’ll have fewer divorces because men finally won’t have to listen to their middle-aged wives bitch about hot flashes - provides the necessary flavor to make this an authentic RFK Jr. “occasionally right, always for the wrong reason” choice…

Trial & Error. Some of the jokes may be
too niche for folks outside criminal law but, overall, the series does a good job of lampooning “true crime” documentaries, understands the absurdities of trial law, and has a surprisingly good cast (Lithgow, Chenoweth).

Haven't started it, but rather liked his "Tokyo Alien Brothers" which is entertaining, cleverly written, and concluded in 3 volumes, so can be consumed in a single, enjoyable sitting.

Anyhow, thanks to you and your colleagues for picking it up, and I look forward to reading it when it drops.

I saw in the Makeine subreddit that Legacy picked it up, but it seemed recently like the project had hit a snag/release was delayed. Poor form to press for updates on labor-of-love efforts, good things come to those who wait, etc., but nice to hear it’s close to complete and emphasizing quality.

Read in the original Japanese, or is there a scanlation available? I ask because I think the official translations are only up to v. 4 and Skythewood, who did the unofficial English volumes, dropped the series after v.7 / once Seven Seas added it to their roster.

Will check it out. Haven’t seen, but have heard decent things about “The Cursed” (2021).
