No one who does the hard work of organizing across communities has the luxury of talking about it as if it's a fantasy where you get something out of it every time. People fight battles and wars with the promise of losing everything because they refuse to accept injustice.

Many people in the US have a transactional relationship with struggle because their values and principles are transactional. The political system teaches people to compromise themselves on everything from self-exploitation to imperialist mass murder abroad. It's about selfishness, not strategy.
