2025 Awards Eligibility

I had five stories come out this year -
if you are reading for awards I’d be really grateful if you gave them your consideration, or maybe even told a friend.

(My graphic is very bad but in my defence I don’t know what I’m doing)

Obviously this is impossible because Alan Moore looks like he's genetically a wizard, it's simply impossible to imagine what he would look like as a schoolboy oh there he is.

no you’re having a dark night of the soul because it’s hard to structure your giant centipede story

Today on my site I’ve talked about my first published story! I’ve written a bit about the writing process and left in a few embarrassing bad ideas too.

I might do more revisits in future — not sure if behind the scenes stuff is interesting to other people though? Let me know!
Old Stories: Manticores — Louis Inglis Hall, Writer
I should be writing a new story this weekend, but I can’t make the structure work. So instead I thought I would write about a story that has already been a) written and b) published. That seems much m...

In light of the astronomical increases for my health insurance next year, I thought it would be a good time to encourage people to subscribe. (A few hundred should cover it. Sigh.)

I've read the 3 Clarkesworld stories from @louisinglishall.bsky.social and all of them are excellent reads, worthy of award consideration. If you haven't checked out his work, I highly recommend it. I'm always excited to see new stories from Hall in Clarkesworld!

This review made me sit up, go out and buy a book immediately. That’s paid off brilliantly with what is very probably my favourite speculative book of the year.

It’s given me flashbacks to reading The Raw Shark Texts as a teenager and the absolute head-splitting *thrill* of it. Such a joy.

On August 12, 1971, 16-year-old me mailed the first story I ever wrote off on its first submission to my dream market, F&SF. My tale was quickly rejected. On July 17th, 2025, I finally sold a story to that magazine. Here's why I felt I had to withdraw that story. www.scottedelman.com/wordpress/20...
