Rachel Reeves hints at tax rises in autumn.

The bottom 20% pay a higher proportion of income in taxes than the richest 20%. This must change.

Tax capital gains and dividends at same rate as wages, charge them NIC too.

Levy wealth tax, financial transactions tax, windfall tax on profiteers.
Rachel Reeves hints at tax rises in autumn budget after welfare bill U-turn
Initially aimed at saving £5.5bn, the watered-down welfare bill now leaves the government with an estimated £5.5bn black hole - close to breaching the chancellor's fiscal rules set out last year.

We welcome that the Government has recognised the damaging effect of the proposed #PIP cuts. But serious cuts to #UC for #Disabled people are still there. Ministers should drop them too.

The Government now has an opportunity to fully re-think its approach and work with Disabled people.

Even with the changes, the Disability Cuts Bill will see nearly half a million disabled people denied PIP over the next 4 years.

MPs shouldn't vote to cut support for disabled people who'll need help cutting up food, washing or going to the toilet.

I'm voting against the Bill.

Offering to involve Disabled people in shaping the cuts will do nothing to change their unacceptability.
Our opposition to the bill remains & we will be delivering our letter to No 10 on Monday.

On the one day I did get out of New Street Station and go into Birmingham, I found it had a beautiful art gallery. I like the friendly accent.
We have devised New Street Station so as to deter the likes of Goodwin from ever getting off the train.

And we drop the accents when no strangers are listening.
