Most of your time though is probably going to be spent trying to be as invisible as possible while the skies buzz with hordes of omnipotent death machines that are just waiting to direct fires onto your hole.

What an absolute hellscape.

If you make it to said outpost, you either need to hunker down and stop the other lot from taking it or hunker up and try and take one of theirs. For this to happen, you’ll be supplied by drones - both ground and air. If you get wounded, hopefully you’ll get evac’d by - you guessed it - a drone.

To get to your outpost, you need to Metal Gear Solid 2 your way through the contested zone - cardboard box optional depending on which side you’re on. On the way, a third of your men will be tasked with monitoring the sky. THE ENTIRE FUCKING SKY.

In this contested zine, both sides have tons of squad-sized outposts that are all horribly jumbled up (everything is on the squad level because if you get too many people in one place, a drone is going to spot you and you’ll either be droned to death or splatted by something the drone’s alerted).

So the long and short of it seems to be that instead of a neatly demarcated frontline with these guys over here and those guys over there, there’s a 15km wide (i.e. bastard massive) ‘contested zone’ where both sides’ drones can bezz about.
