Colony of some Lecanora-like lichen on tree bark. Although on this tree, the apothecia can be seen only in some section, but the green thallus cover the tree.

Indigo fungi. Almost like someone has carefully drawn these lines with a blue-ink fountain pen. These were old shiitake logs but these guys have taken over. Tokikubo, Komoro, Nagano #Fungi #FungiFriends

Seed of sweet autumn clematis (Clematis terniflora) with feathered tail. Normally, there are four or five seeds per cluster, therefore looking like a star, but the other seeds have flown off. Tokikubo, Komoro, Nagano #Plants #Botany

Seeds of sweet autumn clematis. The seeds are dark pink and pointed at the tip from which shite featherly tail emerge. There are two seeds left on this stem.

みまき、睨むと怖いよ...。昨夜、猫カフェに行く夢を見た。似た模様の猫がたくさんいて、一匹づつ模様をチェックしながらみまきを探すというもの。

Alectoria lata, I think. The gnarled larch trees on the east side of the crater are covered with Alectoria and Bryoria. Interestingly, there seem to be very few Usnea here. Ikenotaira, Tomi, Nagano #Lichen #FungiFriends

Colony of Ochrolechia lichen on a rock. The clusters of apothecia look like horse teeth. There is orange tinge in the core part while the rest of the colony is light to medium grey.

Huge specimen of Cetrelia sp., possibly Cetrelia braunsiana. This one is so gorgeous with the distinct psueudocyphellae and aggressive isidia. This even had apothecia which seem to be rare. Lake Matsubara, Koumi-machi, Nagano #Lichen #FungiFriends

Close-up of the isidia along the edge of lobe of Cetrelia lichen. The isidia are small balck protrusions that are abundant alon ghte lobe edge and some on the surface of the lobe. The lobe edge is wavy. Colony of Cetrelia lichen on stone lantern. There are dense isidia in the central part of the colony, and they become confined to edge of lobes as it spreads out. There are no isidia on the extreme tip of the lobes. Here, there are clear white markings and black edge. Some apothecia in the middle part (not clear in the photo).
