Motif ~ 💜

A shadow grows many times in size the closer the light gets to the origin point. This is frightening at first, but it becomes more familiar with practice. We can find confidence in knowing the shadow is part of us, it responds appropriately when respected.

A shadow can only imitate the light that it was created in absense of. It will not outsine it, it will not overpower it, it will not outgrow it. It is the inferior driving force because it is derivative of the power it can only mirror. A bit...poetic isn't it?

One thing I love about this photo is that Astra exists in all locations simultaneously; Behind the camera, in the foreground, as part of the background mountains, and bleeding into the night sky. It is as if she is both the subject, and the environment multiple times over. This photo takes place on the shore of a great expanse of water looking out at a black hole in the distance, almost appocalyptic in scale. There is a large stone hand reaching out towards the black hole that the viewer stands above as Astra's hand appears to reach down from the heavens to almost touch finger tips with the stone hand. The darkness of her hand and blur from the focus being pulled to the black hole makes it look like her hand cuts a sillouette out of the image breaking the formula. Went on a little walkabout last night exploring new worlds, ended up having a ton of fun. The lighting in this world in particular is so visually stunning. I wasn't even planning on taking pictures for certain. I took a bunch! This selfie is so badass. xD

This is a photo colage of sorts made up of multiple photos taken in front of a beautiful amethyst colored stonework wall. The base premise is a photo from an instant camera with the white outline around the perimeter of the photo contained within another of the same photo repeated multiple times with interesting background elements shown around the extremes of the white borders. Astra takes a selfie for the first photo, and like nesting dolls after a few photos pulling out I take a photo with the VRC print camera which is basically an instant camera with landscape orientation instead of a perfect squate ratio. Some of the previous photos that were taken with thevinstant camera are fanned out behind the final shot where the corners can be seen before the print was captured creating a fun effect. There are varying shades of purple accented with brilliant yellow four pointed stars and hardwood flooring. This is same lineup as the previous photo but without the final print camera outline around the image. Astra's fingers now grip around the edge of the instant camera prints within the photo, breaking into the shot in front of the background. This is same lineup as the previous photo but without the final print camera outline around the image. Half of Astra's torso, face, and ears can be seen around the edge of the printed photos where the hands were in the previous shot as she peaks at the viewer.
