Kia ora koutou, The Board of Trustees have decided to close the school tomorrow due to the fire across the road at the Fitzherbert Tavern. The fire involves asbestos-containing materials, and there is concern about asbestos particles and ash debris being carried by the wind onto the school grounds. As a precautionary measure, the school will be closed tomorrow to ensure the health and safety of all staff and students. There is potential risk that air conditioning systems, water supply, and outdoor areas could be affected by airborne contaminants. Specialist testing may be required to determine whether any asbestos debris or ash has settled on the school site before we can safely reopen. We will provide an update tomorrow once further information and test results are available. Please do not come onto the school grounds until we confirm it is safe to do so. On the left: Trickledown Economics. Ask nothing of the wealthy and their corporations and they will eventually create a society in which all prosper. On the right: Pinata Economics. Instead of fruitlessly waiting for wealth to trickle down, beat the rich with blunt instruments until the gold flows.

This is a graph showing real GDP per capita increase. It's mostly positive. Per capita, adjusted for inflation, we should be getting richer. Does it feel that way? The only explanation as to why it doesn't that makes sense to me is growing inequality.

I have absolutely no doubt it is hard to live on the pension, Verity. But the pension is still the *best* of our benefit payments.

Also I think that maybe you mistook some of your monthly expenses as weekly expenses.

So I added up the costs of keeping me and my partner in power, water, phone, internet, rates, insurance, petrol and gym membership… $505 a week. Add $380 for groceries and that’s $885.

In Wales there is a legal requirement for road signs to be in both English and Welsh. In this case, the official of the Highways department emailed the English wording to the translator and, after receiving a reply, proceeded to have the sign made and installed. A few weeks later, Welsh-speaking drivers began to call up to point out that the Welsh reads, "I am currently out of the office. Please submit any work to the translation team."
