I'm a genius

Turin has 2 big main stations, I live close station A.
Yesterday night while booking a train to Milan, I saw one departure at 9:10 and another one at 9:20, arriving at the same time.

JACKPOT, more sleep!

This morning I went to station A at 9:15, the train departed from station B 🤦🏻‍♂️

But I still have a Gleam of hope

Until C# all code was blurry and really hard to read, that's why all programmers needed glasses
Until Objective C, all code was pointless, random. The big innovation was having a goal with it

I want this next generation of software development tools to run on my own computer. Vim and Emacs helped democratize software development and made it accessible. We shouldn't allow this AI wave to take us backwards.

I really hope the open source community can keep pace.

the anthropic drama (tl;dr they blocked third party tools from using claude code subscriptions) is a useful reminder that you use LLMs at the pleasure of the companies providing them

sounds obvious but despite all the AI discourse, i don't see a lot of people talking about the consequences of this

I remember looking at the leaked code from the privacy shield and be utterly disgusted.
Good to know that companies like cloudflare stand where they need to, but we should not take that for granted.
We need to move to a system where these kinds of censorship are not even technically possible.
Italy fined Cloudflare because it refuses to implement our instant censorship mechanism "Piracy Shield" (a small group of people representing the interests of football streaming services can block any IP in 30 minutes, with no warning or courts involved), and Cloudflare basically said "fuck you" 🎊

you’re right! it feels mostly awful to Go Online™, these days. the internet in a sad state, for reason after reason after reason. but there is a way to fix it; to trade the voidful howling for a quiet & joyful song.

1/ In some ways, AI brings a modus operandi to the digit world that we have long had in the physical word (food, clothes, furniture, appliances, etc.):

Producing stuff cheaply, with a low quality and without thinking about the resulting pollution.
