There is a book club organization out there emailing authors telling them the club will feature their work for a "modest fee" for "branded materials" etc. Do not fall for this nonsense. You should never, as a writer, have to pay for such things.

Like crows (their fellow corvids) BBMA will also gather in trees, making loud calls, near a body of a dead magpie; this #bird gathering is called a funeral.

Went out to take pic of cool volunteer plant I noticed yesterday. Heard maracas shaking in high winds—Scrophularia marilandica gone to seed. Panicked as a few 12ft plants is plenty in my tiny garden. Processed as much as I could & bagged the rest.
