Sure. Some locations are better served than others. 85 percent of UK lives in urban area though, so for most people, options are there.

Yes, there are challenges. Thankfully, city commuting represents just one in eight people now. And train use actually increased throughout the Tory governments, increasingly for leisure, which is good.

Visiting Helsinki this year was an education in environmental urban planning. Trains, light rail, trams, huge cycle network, bio fuel for vehicles. I’m sure it’s much harder in rural Finland though.

We should walk or cycle whenever we can. Which is a lot more than most people think. After that, train is the best option, then bus. Cars should be a last resort, not a first choice.

Absolutely. This is why lauding EVs as a panacea is nonsense - they cause just as much traffic, produce tonnes of emissions to make and when driving (tyres), damage roads, and of course kill and injure people. #r4today

It’s difficult on first impression - when I first saw Damien Hurst’s Mother and Child Divided, I just couldn’t take it in as art.
Yet now it’s kind of iconic, albeit still weird (to me).
So maybe we should judge them in a decade’s time? #r4today

I imagine the sales of VPNs will be booming in Australia from today too. So easy to get round. #r4today

I agree that uni costs are not accessible to all. Yet, should any course be funded? Remember that the taxpayer underwrites the debt and nearly half are never repaid and written off. #r4today

Ask yourself why this entire article has no sources shown at all, no URL links to supporting data? 🤔 As I say, an AI inquiry would give you a bunch of sources for its analysis that one can follow up and check, one could ask for comparison or historical data, etc.
This article is PR, Ed. #r4today

This looks like a journalist written article but is really a branded Government press release.
Asking AI for an assessment of the pros and cons would be more balanced. #r4today

I agree, Helen. But most people do not know what “obesogenic” means - we need to make health information more accessible at every stage, including children.
