A new written tutorial that discusses shadows, combining century old traditional 2d practices with a few thoughts on how this applies to modern digital 3d. Will be using this for my upcoming classes. www.neilblevins.com/art_lessons/... #arttip #lighting #shadows

Continuing in my series on "stuff students are asking me", here's a written tutorial about using a histogram to determine Contrast and Exposure in an image, and then how to tweak it to get a better range of brightness values www.neilblevins.com/art_lessons/... #compositing #arttip #color

One used to get cool things with your games (which were $80 way back then too) to help solve things like the lack of in game maps.

Cloth maps like these you'd use to manually pin where cool stuff was that you found. This one came from the classic Ultima 4

Last week I saw a couple of inappropriate lens choices lead to some heavily distorted character faces, so decided to record a quick video examining the issue and providing some advice on when not to use wide angle lenses. www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbqK... #camera #vfx #animatedfilm #lens

Haven't had a ton of time to work on this Macross model, but I thought I would share where I am at with the progress on it. Still low poly at this point at 22,000 faces. Final intention is to have something I can 3d print. #3dsmax

Snagged myself some Takhir Dragonstorm packs today. I'm loving the vibe from this set with its mechanics (though sadly I got no dragons in the packs I opened)

This is a revamp of a tutorial I posted 5 years ago about my art making process. This one has some more info, and WAY better sound. If you've already seen the old one, you can probably skip, but if you haven't seen it, give it a watch! youtu.be/KM2RRYtR_mY?...

Bluesy really needs to build in tools so people can migrate from "math boys" hell hole social media of lies and hate. It took years to curate a list there, and with so many great people moving here this should be a lot easier Imo.
