You’re all complicit.

The saga of the NYT's anti-Mamdani story taken from notorious white supremacist Jordan Lasker (they call him an "academic") gets even more amazing: Lasker's only impactful paper, which claimed white people are smarter, is infamous: it misused data so badly it got his tenured co-author fired. 2/

Steven Pinker spent the last several years framing those of us who disagreed with views as a “woke mob” attacking his free speech, which laid the foundation for the fascist takeover of higher education he now laments.

The additional horrendous thing is that no one knows who these people are. they have not been charged with anything, nothing is known about their visa status. They have simply been declared to be "terrorists" or whatever by a deranged administration without due process. This is fascism. Period.
It is about time that the EU imposes economic sanctions on the US for violating basic human rights. No normal agreement is possible with such a mafia state.

Don't send any more sensitive digital data to the US either. Isolate this rogue state as much as possible.
The video of Trump’s deportees arriving in El Salvador is horrific.

This is 21st century Nazism.

Identities concealed, trafficked to a foreign labour camp. No due process, no evidence of crime. Dehumanised.

Where is the global outrage?

The crime is historic; the normalisation catastrophic.

They're continuing the (incorrect) claim that progressive college students, trans people, "woke" ideology, etc, is a threat to freedom of speech and scientific freedom while actual threats to science from the current far-right US administration are happening at an unprecedented scale.
Lol. All the anti-trans, reflexively contrarian, “anti-woke” scientists have contributed to a book about how science is under attack.

Somehow, there are no chapters dedicated to how Republicans are decimating research and firing experts.
