It does not matter how small the trans population is. It does not matter how small any minority population is. When we allow them to be targeted, attacked, eradicated - it’s not a temporary state. If you don’t see that as a loss, that says more about your ethics than your political savvy. (/5)
The answer is straightforward: Prior to WW2, there were 3.3 million Jews in Poland. In the 2021 census, there were 17,156 Jews living in Poland. The people behind Mi Polin know the mezuzah traces are from before WW2 because, quite simply, once They Came For Jews, we did not return (4/)
Because my brain has four brain cells rattling around (and because I grew up not really feeling like I was A Minority) when I first learned about Mi Polin I wondered, naturally, how they knew these mezuzah traces were from pre-ww2. How do they know a Jewish family didn’t live there after? (3/)
