It always seems to be pretty random and really annoying. Then you get the jars of herbs and the prices are suddenly mostly per *10* grams. Except the odd one or two brands which are still in 100g and look ridiculous in comparison.

In better news: we spent the weekend playing computer games and baking, we made banana choc chip muffins (to stop the bananas making a bid for world domination) and a Haunted House kit:

We found roman snails living in a local nature reserve (in 2020) and they're pretty awesome

Turns out it was Raspberry not Strawberry. Overall pretty tasty, but may be better with stronger cheese, and chonkier bread. Wouldn't eat every day but a nice change.

When you accidentally too much hair spray. I like the curls but it's a bit crispy!

I can do you 2006 on the same principle. (It's on my phone *now*)

I spent some of yesterday afternoon holding a 20 year old captive-bred barn owl called Professor. He was lovely! I was also spending time throwing axes at things. Not *terribly* successfully, but I did eventually get a couple to stick in the target.

I went retro last night and insisted on carving a swede. It only took as long as it takes a 12 year old to do two pumpkins :)

And then you go in the hot tub in the rain

Some days you wake up with the sort of bed hair you wish you could do on purpose.

The plan was to go to Scotsdales for lunch, however we took one look at the people queueing out of the door of the cafe and just bought some plants instead (and cakes in the new deli/food hall) before heading home via the bakery in Shelford and getting back just before the heavy rain.

A rather zoomed in image from Streetview. The only reason the don't block the pavement here is that there isn't one.

Yours is growing a lot faster than mine!

I did it! I finally finished the Arbor Day Squardle from last year. It's taken me forever to find the last 50 words or so.

Matthew very kindly agreed to demonstrate the lack of spaghetti sauce on his school shirt!

I dread to think how much this lot would cost... though to be fair I've stopped these from falling over by filling the shelves up completely.

I actually need to solve the problem of how to *find* books when some are arranged alphabetically, some by size, and some by how recently purchased.

#NewProfilePic I may have bought a rather predictable new top!

This one is from the late 70s :)

Stopped for a sit-down post covid vaccine witha mug of black-forest hot chocolate in Hotel Chocolat. Not strictly necessary, but a nice indulgence before heading back to work.

It started tipping it down and thundering at precisely the time I had to leave to go meet Matthew at school, and then more or less stopped by the time he came out, so he cycled home completely dry!

Sometimes I forget how lucky I am that cycling is so normalised here.
