Tired of faffing around cleaning up shoddy markup when carrying out accessibility assessments?

Not enough hours in the day to tinker with the many options in the HTML De-crapulator?

Then what you need is the '1-Click De-crapulator'!

I guess I’m not going back to America any time soon.
Absolutely insane list

I've just checked on the social media requirement, because this has been on the ESTA application for a few years now but you were able to leave it blank

Giving details of your social media will be a mandatory requirement to get an ESTA
This is the full list of info the US is proposing to require from applicants for an ESTA (electronic travel authorisation) to secure visa-free travel to America. This would apply to every UK holidaymaker, conference attendee or businessperson. public-inspection.federalregister.gov/2025-22461.pdf

I'm not a Christmas person; quite happy for it to be done-and-dusted and get into January (even if January is itself a bit grim), but one highlight I *can* get behind is the HTMLHell advent calendar.

The man's got integrity. No working with/for AI-related peddlers sure makes things harder and harder what with it being shoved down everyone's throats. Go treat yourself to one of his courses, people.
A bit of a vulnerable post by me but we need your help to get us through what has been a more difficult period than 2020.

It would be really appreciated if you could read and share in your networks too 💛

It’s been a very hard year - Andy Bell
Unlike a lot of places in tech, my company, Set Studio/Piccalilli has no outside funding. Bootstrapped is what the LinkedIn people say, I think. It’s been a hard year this year. A very hard year...

Many people still misunderstand screen readers — who uses them, how they work, and what inclusive design really means.

Would you look at the state of THAT?1 Well, now you can ... It's Friday bookmarklet time!

Another little bookmarklet I put together for one specific aim: I wanted to duplicate an element on a page so that I could apply a focus style to it while having the default style next to it (for screenshot purposes):

I'll be heading off to a CAN (Champions of Accessibility Network) meet-up in London later today and while I usually post such things on a Friday, I'll break the rule here in case anyone who's attending wants to ask me about any of this later.

My son has become something of a rollercoaster enthusiast. Whenever we compare what we have in UK to the US, it’s clear that the US Parks have some of the most amazing rides I would dearly love to take him to some of them one day.
