You will pick it up without thinking about it. Too much grammar is blinding. Just talk and the words will come by themselves. A few glasses of wine can help (at least in my experience).

That most certainly a relief and makes planning easier.

This making me hungry. I love tartiflette despite it not being the healthiest of dishes.

What more could you want? Sounds perfect!

Not comfortable but short lived. For me the worst part was being placed in exactly the right place plus the awful music that was played. However I am pleased it was done at no financial cost to me.

I got there at the sixth guest having tried various first letters!

I have had a lot of problems with Gallica, not just manuscript related ones. Very frustrating. Biblissima does seem to work better.

So true. I wanted to look up the Luttrell Psalter but it is not there! Fortunately I downloaded a digital facsimile a few years ago which solves that problem but I fear others I may want to see will not be available. I can’t find the same search function that I used before for more general searches.

This is good news!

Each has a completely different aspect: town at the front, garden at the back, medieval wall at the side. I favour the town view to people watch!

Having left a house in the country with garden and various terraced areas we insisted on having one here. We have three all facing different ways. They are a godsend.

I would work with the original floor boards. For ‘I’ please read OH!

And mine but I didn’t want to walk up anymore ricketty stairs. He and I used to walk miles and miles.

Funny you should mention lifts. In another place where he lived nearer the Sorbonne he had a very ricketty lift.

Reminds me of the stairs in the building in which my youngest son lived. By the time you got to the top floor the stairs were ricketty. Ground floor ones were stone. Rue Cardinal Lemoine.

Great thread. I have really enjoyed your posts although I would have preferred to see the real exhibits! Thank you.

We left ours behind knowing that we would never need it in France.

I didn’t like shoveing when we lived there but thought it worthwhile for the beauty and fun of being in the snow.

We have had to compromise since we left our country home and now live in a very comfortable flat in Avignon. OH favours artificial as there is not the problem of disposal. I am for a real tree. Last year the artificial one reappeared but we had a real one on the terrace (with lights)!

Zelenskyy is quite right. Trump wants the glory and doesn’t give a damn about Ukraine or anywhere else. He is becoming more dangerous by the day.
