Aside from the duck hunt issue, the old NES and SNES video games look awful on newer tvs. The graphics were designed for the way that the screen of a crt displayed the images. lifehacker.com/why-do-retro...

There was very little for tweens/teens to do in the 90s.

I'm from the Southwest: Bakersfield CA and Phoenix Arizona. The geckos were much more plentiful in Phoenix.

The most epic was finding TWO bitty geckos and having a matching pair.

My sound system plugs into the optical port, but my sister in laws TV is just slightly too old to have one of those, which we didn't find out until my husband was trying to install her Christmas present last year.

We should make it mandatory for RFK, Jr to wear mouth tape at all times.

I used to know what it means, and I remember enough about it that I'm glad that my covid brain damage has wiped it from my memory.

It was literally the only Cinderalla pumpkin off my 100 plus foot vine and it chose to grow in her yard, so ...

We had plenty of other pumpkins, mainly Tan Cheese and Seminole, plus one "gourdeous" Jarrahdale.

I would never take food that grew in someone else's yard, and that includes the pumpkins from the vines I planted in my yard that climbed up our lilac shrubs and hopped the fence into my neighbor's yard.

I hope she and her grandkids loved that Cinderella pumpkin.

I will never use the information I acquired from watching this, I would probably still throw away a thing I found in this condition if I was plowing a field, but it was super cool to watch.

I really like hearing what works and doesn't work for other people, because I'm constantly tweaking my own ADHD coping mechanisms. Gotta stay ahead of the brain gremlins!

"exemplifies profound paternal investment"

Hey, Grok, have you asked Vivian her opinion about Elon's paternal investments?

I can understand. I get up and walk away from my planner all the time. And start to update it with meal plans and then get involved in searching new recipes or printing little book covers to update my reading page. But having all my to-dos and appointments listed in one place mostly works for me.

The "rise" in autism diagnosis is definitely affected by us previously undiagnosed autistic adults seeking help with their kids. If I was still surrounded by my neurodivergent dad's side of the family, and all the built in childcare help, I probably wouldn't have gotten my kids or myself diagnosed.

Autistic kids are caused by Autistic parents most of the time. Just because we couldn't tell the difference between my Grandma being weird because of her German immigrant ideas and PTSD from WWII and her Autistic quirks like sense of justice, doesn't mean she wasn't Autistic.

"HHS has launched a comprehensive assessment of the causes of autism..."

I bet $1,000,000 that "Neurotypical people have discovered that Autistic people are awesome and we like to fuck" is not going to be one of their investigations.

I "toy up" my planner with stickers. I have a planner envy monthly subscription and that keeps the dopamine flowing.

We were concerned about the same thing, so we kept the standard box next to the LR while the cats adapted to the new set up, and by the end of the third week, they were exclusively using the LR.

A quick google of "how far are fire hydrants supposed to be placed from buildings" shows that the typical municipal regulation is usually "at least 40 feet from a building but no more than 600 feet" depending upon the type of building.

So...
