In line with historical structural changes in the area that beautifully fit our conference theme, positive attitudes towards the local linguistic variety have emerged, with "Ruhrdeutsch becom[ing] an anchor point for [the locals'] own regional feeling [of home]" (Ziegler & Angenendt 2024:164).
