Abolish ICE!

(The Atlantic: free) Truly great writing of everyday life NOW in Minneapolis as a result of ICE and Trump's horrible behavior and lies. Well worth the read if you have time.

Don't be quiet or compliant. Keep talking, protesting or writing letters to congress. Whatever your form of protest, keep the pressure on until this regime is gone.
The biggest risk in this moment is something sociologists call “symbolic compliance.”

That’s when an institution that is violating civil rights gives the public just enough symbolic victories that accountability efforts lose steam before there has been any meaningful change.

Amid these dark moments, something important is beginning to shift.

It's clearly the result of healthy political pressure - which we must sustain, and build.

"Why is it so normal for law enforcement — those who are supposed to be keepers of law and order — to kill Americans? And why is the only question at the end of the day how much their victims deserved to die?"

The more difficult the conflict, the greater the victory. We must not allow fascism to succeed.
This time around will surely be a much larger struggle, but have no doubt, my fellow Americans, we will defeat Fascism! As Americans, it's kind of our thing! ✊🤛🇺🇸

The ICE thugs need to go and then be prosecuted and sent to prison. Alex is every one of us - citizen or not - fighting fascism.

It's been about 24 hours and the winning cope on Twitter is clearly "it was a secretary position, calm down"

Seems like not vetting someone for a job with access to personnel files would be bad also, but what do I know

Anyway, the job ICE offered me was Deportation Officer

@kaine.senate.gov Vote No on funding ICE. There is no good economic reason to give them anything. They are terrorizing US cities and their residents, murdering moms and jailing kids. These thugs need to be stopped now. There is nothing worth saving at ICE. Get rid of it and start over.
