25 dead so far across Texas from flooding. Local authorities are blaming poor forecasting.

It’s all so tragically predictable and criminally negligent.
NEW: Mass layoffs began today at NOAA.

Workers were fired by email at the agency which runs the National Weather Service, National Hurricane Centre & Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre.

Services are already shutting down.

I want you to carefully think about what Republicans are telling you to cut millions of recipients from Medicaid and Medicare. They want you to believe millions of “perfectly healthy” people are lazily sitting around taking your money. Medicare and Medicaid are health benefits not welfare checks.

There are 6 elements to disinformation.

Actors, incentives, narrative, targeted audience, targeted channel, and exploitation.

Pre-bunking the narrative has efficacy.

However, it presumably has more if it also explains incentives and exploitation harms.
