Brown offers a similar response. After all the turmoil of the past 10 yrs, another leader will just demonstrate that our politics is in total chaos, playing further into Reform’s hands.

Pls could Starmer (w/o McS) turn things around as you & Brown suggest.

We owe it to Epstein’s victims and to British democracy to demand historic change | Gordon Brown
The abuse of women by figures such as Epstein, and of political power by the likes of Mandelson, must be confronted. As far as I am able, I will play my part, says former UK prime minister Gordon Brow...

I hope McSweeney goes. Starmer seems to have outsourced all political judgment to him.
Remember when he looked shocked at the applause he got about needing a vote on the Brexit deal? I think that was a moment when he was being authentic.
But since then, as PM, so little has felt authentic.

So much this.

“I think if you demonstrate bold leadership, you can carry people with you. You can convince…people are very aware of the difficulties and the problems they’re having in their lives or that they see in their families and friends. People are quite thirsty. They’re thirsty for hope.”

And the repeal of the ECHR will remove any semblance of protections for those detained.

It is insane & terrifying that the ppl who destroyed this country with Brexit should be listened to at all, let alone when their stated aims are now to crush anything of value that remains.

Oh looks like the EU got a good deal then.

Honestly. He’s deranged. Someone needs to take his phone away, but first his presidential status.

I know ppl criticise a wealth tax, saying it wouldn’t work, but if we want to be a society with responsibilities to each other, then we need to lance the boil of inequality (& hopefully that of Reform as a result).
Private greed, public squalor is no recipe for a happy & successful country.

I have a book for children coming out in March on this very theme. Loss & the space they leave behind. 💔
