For years a friend and I have only Venmo’d in amounts ending in $.69 but also we’ve never done a war by text so there’s that.

One of kid's 7th grade teachers is out sick and the instructions to them include "Let me be crystal clear..." and I love her and want to have drinks with her.

I’m going to need someone to explain to me the last 10 minutes of the Recruit, because I’m not going to rewatch whatever that was.

If you're gonna just mass fire people, can you at least learn how to properly use mail merge? Just like as a basic human decency.

Just over here removing please and thanks from all of my correspondence over removals and RIFs. It's the little things.

Yes, federal employees, it's best to comply first and grieve later, but you don't have to check your email when you're not in a duty status...

Given what we know about economic trends, dining forecasts, hell just the impact of weight loss meds, this is a race to the very, very bottom. Squeezing out the last drips of profit from your workers, while buying a $7.1million home. Disgusting. www.washingtonpost.com/food/2025/02...
At the center of Rasika’s union fight: Should servers be on commission?
Rasika’s owner says the new system will help the restaurant handle rising costs, but as they push for a union, some servers say they didn’t have a choice.

I am choosing to believe that while Novoselic and Grohl have very much aged, I have not. I still have the skin of a 15 year old.*

*Smear has always looked older. And my perimenopause skin does mirror that of a hormonal teen.

So many administrative investigations right now. Please encourage feds to contact an atty who reps feds, if they are a subj OR a witness. MWELA.org or NELA.org are great places to start looking for a fed atty. And here's my firm's quick and dirty on rights incidental to an investigation.

This tastes like instant Lipton and sweet and low. If someone sat next to me and smoked Marlboros while painting their nails, it would be like going back in time to my grandmother’s house.

I know we shouldn’t laugh, but I’d also ban paper straws (I wouldn’t, I get it, plastic = bad). And self checkout. And why, as an adult, I don’t get a lollipop at the hair salon or bank or really anywhere.

The IG at an Agency I worked for thought that he hit the jackpot when he saw how many attorneys were looking at Lexuses all day, rather than working. We were using LexisNexis. For our jobs. Anywho, no idea what that dude is doing now, but he's at least not president, so there's that?
this appears to be based entirely on subscriptions for Politico Pro that many govt agencies pay for. but it doesn't matter, this is now fact for roughly half the country for eternity and will be used to do whatever they want.

We were a Headstart family by virtue of our address. In addition to how to brush his teeth and spell, Headstart taught him that he can be anything. Why would anyone want to take away free early education, unless it’s because the point is to not educate, among other things.

They are literally coming for the literal Constitution.*

*Also, why isn’t there any fact checking here (I know the answer). Just because a Russian potato with dementia believes something to be true, does not make that thing then true.

A silver lining to all of this feds stuff is that the unions are really stepping up. Absolutely responding to the moment.

In my little corner of the world, I'd do a lot to have the rec centers let kids in early on early release days. Like if middle school kids want to do something that isn't my basement with a screen while making loud, odd sounds and eating all my food, can't we make that happen?

I see a baby tapir, I share a baby tapir. Those are the rules, especially in a constitutional crisis.
Exciting news! We’re thrilled to announce that tapir Yuna gave birth to a rare and endangered Malayan tapir calf Sunday night. The newborn, covered in distinctive white spots and stripes resembling a fuzzy walking watermelon, is only the second tapir born in our 120-year history.

That thing with strength training where it doesn't hurt until day two is somehow less compatible with the current timeline than before. I can barely keep up with life, let alone remember that my sore shoulder is because Monday was shoulders and not because I'm having a heart attack.
