I don’t think they would have had an immediate need to hang him. Likely taken as a POW or freed as a “civilian” after he acted the part.

Yeah, David Schmidt told me that also when they did the Benjamin Franklin documentary as well. I kind of wish it led to a credit.

On the plus side, I heard that a museum in Philadelphia is going to open an exhibit about Statia’s (Sint Eustatius) contributions and I can’t wait to see it. A great window into Dutch aid and Jewish support.

I would think at least the French will receive mention. Dutch and Spanish aid are so little known.
