While the wet foot print test may still have niche uses, its role in general foot posture assessment is very limited. And remember, static foot posture doesn’t predict dynamic function or guarantee injury risk—your body is far more complex than that!

… there was no room for an insole due to swelling and sensitivity. I customized his shoe by adding podiatry felt inside, creating a tailored "shelf" for extra comfort and support.

That said, the test can occasionally provide insight in specific contexts. For example, I recently used it following a Lisfranc rupture and metatarsal/cuneiform # which resulted in fusion surgery. It helped me assess how and where arch support might be helpful in a swollen, post-op foot…

* Research has shown static tests don’t reliably predict dynamic foot posture
* Foot posture ≠ pathology. While foot posture may play a small role in some conditions, it's far less critical to pain and injury than previously thought.
* Injury risk spans all postures
