Seattle and Portland area folks:

These two sweeties need a new foster home by December 12th. One boy, one girl, both fixed. They’ll come with food, toys, and litter (also a cat playpen if you want it).

Would really appreciate any shares to cast a wider net.

“That’s the real escapist fantasy in Legends & Lattes – making friends in your 40s.” @travisbaldree.bsky.social speaks truth.

I wish there was a “I do not, at any time now or in the future, want AI involved with any aspect of medical care for my pets” option for these prompts.

My favorite neighbors that I haven’t met are the one who had a Paw Patrol yard sign made with a picture of their actual dog.

Foster’s first ferry ride with the 2018 National Theatre recording of Follies for a soundtrack.

Pike is used to both ferries and showtunes.

After four weeks of having an additional dog, PT appointments, and strength training exercises at home to supplement PT I very begrudgingly admit that regularly moving your body makes a significant difference physically and emotionally. Damnit.

The dogs have so thoroughly worn each other out that 75% of their play looks like this now. Laying down on the couch, moving their necks/heads, and chewing on the other’s jaw.

By the time we decided to reschedule my 12pm because they’re sick Foster Tortie had already settled in my lap so…

“What a coincidence – I also like pita!”

Foster dog is the politest little beggar.

He wants to be where the people (and dog and cats) are.

We’re not going to get a second a dog but damn is it nice to let them run each other into the ground by noon.

Our dog and the foster dog started playing together without it turning into aggression!

(I promise everyone in this picture is happy)

I’ve been extremely lucky my whole life and never had to worry about getting enough food. Wish I could do more but I will absolutely do at least this.

Food banks need us to show up. Our neighbors need us to show up. Please do if you can.

He also does this regularly.
October 26, 2025 at 1:43 AM
This is a thing the foster dog does regularly.

Foster dog is a mixed bag.

Pros: doesn’t howl, is a dream to walk, deeply in love with his crate, the floofiest of tails.

Cons: it’s officially rainy season in the PNW, our backyard is mud soup playtime isn’t an option, he’s a Husky and absorbs rain like a sponge.

Both foster cats decided to be work assistants today.
