A little Sunday project: masking images using overlapping sigmoids, with a Processing script and an obnoxiously knobbly midi controller I have for some reason. This approach allows for realtime tuning of the masked area as well as the smoothness of the alpha transitions #gamedev #processing

Just finished Stalker 2. Great visuals and atmosphere as to be expected, though I found the world becomes dull to explore because the best rewards are guns and artifacts that just change stats in a minor way. @stevelee.bsky.social has a good video on how games can do this better. #gamedev

Really loved this deep dive by @indiegameoasis.bsky.social on what makes Slay the Spire work, gave me new appreciation for a game I already respected a lot #gamedev

Ran a poll over on r/roguelites, asking fans of the genre to answer the question "What multiplayer option gets you most excited for a new roguelite, if any?" Co-op wins, by a lot. But I wonder if it might be that players just haven't seen a good competitive roguelite yet? #gamedev #roguelites

Working on a UI challenge today - need an icon which shows that a pass/fail outcome is probabilistic, as well as giving an idea of likelihood, without using any numbers or ugly percentage signs. Initial designs... #gamedev
