I still put my body first and didn't try to do all of this as if I'm abled. I listened to pain or tiredness alerts and I was mindful of not trying to add extra stuff in just because I managed this stuff well. But I'm so glad I decided to go for things I would have backed out of a few years ago.

In the last 2 weeks, Nimrod has begun gently putting his paw on my face to let me know that HE is hungry and would like me to feed him. He literally watched his brother and learned that it results in food acquisition. Sure, he's a total himbo, but if it's food related he is a mastermind. 3/3

Ripley has gotten used to the fact that I nap regularly (chronic pain & illness, yay) so if I'm asleep and he wants more of his food, he gently taps my face with his paw OR gently hooks a paw round my earphone wire to pull them out to signal me to get his bowl for him. It is stupidly adorable. 2/3

I was painting with gauche and had all my stuff on my desk so couldn't migrate to the bed (I'm also very clumsy so that painting would end up on the bed 😅)

There's an awful lot of reactive yanks on this site who see someone posting about exhaustion with politics and immediately assume we're American liberals lamenting middle class disruption, like there aren't other countries dealing with our own shite. They need to wind their necks in.
