Whenever you hear of a new measles case, contact tracers invariably list the following as exposure sites:

Airports/airplanes
ERs and walk in clinics
Shopping malls and pharmacies.

Getting vaccinated is the best prevention for measles, but wearing a respirator in high risk places helps too!

I reviewed @carlzimmer.com's new book Airborne.

"His book is an enthralling historical exploration of the role of airborne microorganisms in disease, and examines why these pathogens have been overlooked for centuries."

Cats with H5N1. Maybe this will bring more attention to the issue. People care immensely about their pets.
SCOOP: Cats that became infected with bird flu might have spread the virus to humans in the same household and vice versa, according to data that briefly appeared online in a report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention but then abruptly vanished.

The data, which appeared fleetingly online on Wednesday, confirmed transmission in two households. Scientists called on the agency to release the full report.

Here is the way to build your own filtration unit....takes about 20 minutes....costs about $70...run fan on low so it's quiet (still works well). There are now designs that use PC fans which are extremely quiet. CR boxes outperform HEPAs which cost 5-10x more.
Everyone needs to be running CR boxes (or HEPAs) in their homes and offices near this area.
Air quality is terrible.

Article link is really good for explaining risk
COVID isn’t a cold—it's like a car accident. It damages organs, causes long-term illness & raises risk of heart attack. In the long run it's always a losing game. Hack it by understanding risk.

Sounds like something to avoid. “The long-term neurological effects include ‘accelerated brain ageing, potentially leading to a loss of five to 10 years of healthy brain function in affected individuals.’”

A lot of people don't realize that many patients with #LongCovid are now often being treated in Brain Injury Clinics, together with patients recovering from traumatic brain injury after a concussion. It's been hard to keep up with the literature, but here is a new one published yesterday #NeuroCovid

This seems worth understanding!
Here's my take on #COVID-19 (the disease not the pandemic).

It's not what you think it is ...

It's ironic that those who argue lockdowns caused significant harm also seem to believe that isolating from society is the best solution for individuals wishing to avoid SARS-CoV-2 infection.
