In clinic today every patient who was pregnant with diabetes & reliant upon SNAP for food had their payments discontinued over the weekend

In the next weeks, doctors should be alert to starvation.

Starvation can be a surprisingly difficult diagnosis, as both food insecurity can be embarrassing & undisclosed but also the early medical manifestations can be subtle.

Unexplained lab or electrolyte changes?

Ask about food.

But Ohio already has a waiting period law…

which has been ruled unconstitutional…

so this is redundant…

Acetaminophen remains a safe pain relief option during pregnancy. Despite recent unfounded claims, there’s no clear evidence linking prudent use to fetal development issues. ACOG's guidance remains. When needed in pregnancy, acetaminophen should be used in moderation, after consulting a doctor.

Like the AAP, these should now be the vaccination recommendations cited by experts, leaders, journalists, physicians, researchers, policymakers & the media.
