You can own the billionaires.

You can fiddle social media algorithms.

You can sit in the President’s chair.

You can lie & truth twist as much as you like.

But when you’re a bullying criminal coward sat next to a true hero and a statesman - who you really are is obvious.

Trump and Vance bullied and humiliated Zelensky – who is fighting for the survival of his nation – broadcast live worldwide.

Starmer has invited Trump for a state visit. We should think twice before rolling out the red carpet.

The public treatment of the Ukrainian President today was disgraceful. Putin will have been very pleased.

Keir Starmer must reflect on his own meeting with Trump, and swiftly & unequivocally reaffirm support for Ukraine and President Zelensky.

And there should be no state visit.

This announcement was sadly inevitable.

Our hospitals are full. There's the anticipated seasonal issues eg flu etc, but crucially hospital beds have been cut, we're 2000 nurses short, and Social care can't accommodate many that need to leave hospital.

Why don’t Labour want more powers for Wales?

I have granted the following Urgent Question in the @houseofcommons.parliament.uk today.

From Ben Lake MP to ask Steve Reed MP, Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, if he will make a statement on the government’s response to Storm Darragh.
The House of Commons sits from 11.30am today.

The #OrderPaper is published each sitting day and lists the business of the House.

As it happens, I was born in Rayner’s constituency. It must be one of the most nature depleted counties in the U.K. As kids our only green space was the local cemetery and the river that runs through her constituency is the most polluted in the country. Speaks volumes. Can’t miss what you don’t know

Exactly this. The Welsh (and Scottish) budgets are set on the basis of public spending in England. With a Westminster consensus for austerity, and only very limited tax and borrowing powers, we can never break out of the downward spiral. Responsibility without power.
This is key. Every single U.K. government department has a negotiation with the treasury about their budgets except the devolved Governments. So our block grant is decided not on Wales’ needs but as an afterthought. Completely unacceptable and a key failure of the devolved settlement .
“When the UK chancellor announces their budget, the Welsh government hears what’s in it at exactly the same time as every other person in the UK. It is impossible for the Senedd to plan long term…. No other country ties the spending allocations to its regions to its largest constituent state.”
