What's small, covered in feathers, and loves sweets? The subject of our #PictureOfTheWeek, of course!

🍯 The honeyguide depends on eating wax from honey bees. But the bird can’t get into hives on its own, says ecologist Rob Dunn. So it strikes up a sweet deal with humans: buff.ly/nG8WlwU

What The Label Of ‘Genius’ Tells Us About Our Society
In “The Genius Myth,” Helen Lewis argues that who we call a genius reveals more about our values than any objective measure of brilliance.

Earlier this summer, astronomers spotted a comet visiting us from another solar system. Plus, scientists studying dust from the Bennu asteroid found stardust that's older than our solar system.
Meet 3I/Atlas, An Object From Another Solar System
The third interstellar object ever observed is in our neighborhood—for now. And, asteroid Bennu could contain dust from far-off solar systems.

Word of the Day: anhreuliedig geiriadur.ac.uk/gpc/gpc.html...

A word with two meanings: 'indigestible and undigested (of food, &c.)' and 'inexhaustible, imperishable, endless, unspent and unexhausted'. The latter meaning of the word is used in R. Williams Parry's famous poem, Y Llwynog.

I am fascinated with the history of words, etymology. History of English words and French is quite an interesting topic.
You can often swap the É at the start of a French word with an S and get closer to the English equivalent:

🇫🇷 État 🇬🇧 State
🇫🇷 Étude 🇬🇧 Study
🇫🇷 Étrange 🇬🇧 Strange
🇫🇷 Écoute 🇬🇧 Scout (seriously, they're related)

But why?

@jesszafarris.bsky.social and I have been talking it out.

It's related to 🇩🇪Glocke and 🇫🇷cloche, both of which mean 🔔
