“The No Club” is now available in Chinese! I got to celebrate the publication while presenting at the ESAWorld meetings in Beijing. It was a pleasure to meet our publisher at China Machine Press and to reconnect with our extremely talented and generous Pitt alumni. What an amazing trip.

50 years of International Women’s Day and feeling tremendous sadness over recent anti-DEI developments. Light is seen in the organizations that boldly maintain that success hinges on providing employees equal opportunity for reaching their potential.

Learn to Say No.

How do you decide when to say no? Ask yourself:

-Can I say no?
-Do I actually want to do this? (Beyond “it is so nice to be asked!”)
-Would I do it much better/differently than the next person?
-What will I take of my plate if I do this?

My fabulous student @priyomam.bsky.social is on the job market. Her JMP demonstrates that failed HH information pooling is not due to reluctance to learn from one’s spouse. A domain with common knowledge of expertise shows successful pooling-suggesting expertise incentivizes talking and listening.
I am on the #EconJobMarket !
🚨 JMP Alert 🚨

Individuals fail to incorporate information held by their spouses. Is it because they are generally reluctant to learn from their spouse?

In my #JMP, I show: NO! It's because communication is challenging in the absence of expertise.
