I just did a million school visits, give or take, and I will tell you that nothing the kids asked me was anywhere as rude as the dudebro on the plane who wanted to know when I was going to write a "real" book, because picture books and fantasy novels don't count.
What’s the worst question someone can ask after you tell them your profession? For linguists, it’s definitely “how many languages do you speak?”, but I’m curious what else is happening to the rest of y’all out there?!
