We think this is a great occasion to show you the first images of the new LISA Spacecraft. The ESA led mission is now in the co-engineering phase. The instrument of LISA, provided by national space agencies across Europe and beyond, will be integrated by the primary contractor OHB SE.

10 years ago, the first gravitational wave #GW150914 was detected by the LIGO-Virgo Collaboration. This was a significant step to confirm LISA as a flagship mission, and we as a community are profoundly grateful for the decades of research effort that made the discovery reality.

What a wonderful evening, meeting old colleagues and new at the #GR24Amaldi16, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the first gravitational wave detection - how time flies and now we are constructing @science.esa.int #LISA for the coming decade to probe new scales of spacetime disturbances!
Carole Mundell (@cmundell.bsky.social @esa.int ) is presenting a journey "From Earth to the Fabric of Spacetime" this evening at Glasgow SEC!

A rich morning of @lisacommunity.bsky.social science at #GR24Amaldi16 with Oliver's talk followed by Adam Pound on modelling extreme mass ratio systems
My favorite slide today from Oliver Jennrich at #gramaldi #amaldi16. It shows how rich gravitational waves from extreme mass ratio inspirals are for testing general relativity

And #LISA data will have unavoidable gaps in it due to scheduled maintenance. To cut or to taper? Ollie Burke explains that we will need to be careful in how gaps are dealt in LISA analysis. #GR24Amaldi16

The #LISA data will contain noise artifacts such as glitches. At #GR24Amaldi16, Martina Muratore presented work on modelling glitches and disentangle the glitches from the massive black hole binary signals.

* white dwarf binaries
* extreme mass ratio inspirals
* stellar origin black hole binaries

LISA will take its own vacuum system to space?

Why does #LISA need a vacuum system in the vacuum of space??? 🌌

Lorenzo Sala (University Of Trento / INFN) at #GR24Amaldi16 explains that even an individual molecule hitting the LISA test mass can cause a disturbance!
