First gravitational wave observatory in space. 3 satellites flying in triangle formation connected by 2.5 million km laser beams. An ESA mission with international participation including from NASA. Launch in the 2030s.
Already excited for the next #LISASchool! 👀 🚀

🙏 A heartfelt thank you to the organizers and speakers for their dedication and hard work in making this school such a success, and to the sponsors who made everything possible!

From hands-on coding sessions to deep-dive lectures and late-night discussions, the energy and curiosity were incredible. The school fostered meaningful collaborations, new research directions, and a supportive early-career network. Many new ideas, new friendships, and collaborations were born here.

What an inspiring two weeks at Ecole de Physique des Houches! 🏔️ 🇫🇷

The first #LISASchool for Early Career Scientists brought together young researchers from around the world to learn, collaborate, and explore the science behind #LISAMission, the first space-based gravitational-wave observatory.

We think this is a great occasion to show you the first images of the new LISA Spacecraft. The ESA led mission is now in the co-engineering phase. The instrument of LISA, provided by national space agencies across Europe and beyond, will be integrated by the primary contractor OHB SE.

Ways to 'see' black holes include cosmic indigestion (when a black hole is over fed!), imaging the shadow of a black hole, and (our favorite) ripples in space-time!! #GravitationalWaves

And #LISA data will have unavoidable gaps in it due to scheduled maintenance. To cut or to taper? Ollie Burke explains that we will need to be careful in how gaps are dealt in LISA analysis. #GR24Amaldi16

We need to simulate #LISA data in order to test our analysis pipelines. Henri Inchauspé presented the ingredients of the simulated Common Dataset 1.
* massive black hole binaries
* white dwarf binaries
* extreme mass ratio inspirals
* stellar origin black hole binaries
