We've spent part of today at the cemetery for my grandma's burial and the other part watching my grandparents' 50th wedding renewal of vows and anniversary celebration, reminiscing about them both. They were married for 75 years. Grandpa wanted to live to 100, didn't get there...but she did.

Since we've Iived in this 'hood, we've grouped with our neighbors to have a table groaning with candy in front of our across-the-street neighbors super-decorated house that we all give out to the kids...but this year, the big hit is the fog bubbles.

Marcia Ball performed at our synagogue in New Orleans once upon a time. She sat at her keyboard and said, "I'd say we've performed in nicer places before...but we haven't."
I also over heard her play "Crawfishin'" in the social hall before the service, which was freaking hilarious.

Grateful that my family was able to connect with my grandma's synagogue on Zoom for her to get a beautiful blessing from the rabbi and the congregation while she was at home. Sometimes, technology can be pretty nifty.

I realized most of the way through this @finefrogstitching.com pattern that I hadn't centered the words beneath the whale. I kinda like it this way, though, plus my general laziness ensures it'll stay this way. So there. #xstitch
