Made a cute little hex jar today. Added a little bee as the knob.

I really like making jars. They're a technical challenge, but still feel artistic because they can be precise, sculptural, or a combo of the two! Plus they're both artistic and functional, which is something I love in my ceramics.

WIP. Unfired, unglazed canyon altar with tiny integrated dried flower vases. I became drawn to depicting the visual language of my local canyon landscapes after the seismic, disruptive, instability of 2020. Feeling it again & it's seeping into my work.

An unfired, unglazed, sculpted, carved clay altar made to resemble precarious canyon geology. Two tiny integrated vases are on either side of crumbling canyon walls, decorated with dried seed pods. A small pool formation is in the foreground of the piece where one can place special rocks or other small items. A work in progress.
