It feels surreal that I get to share this: I was selected for the #PressStart Games Founding Grant scholarship program!!! 🚀✨

This means for the next 18 months I'll be able to focus on founding a studio and developing my first full-time project, a cozy nature restoration game 🌷🍃

I'm so excited !! 😱

If you wanted to know whether cozy cleaning games are hot right now, and specifically, if they can be successful on Kickstarter... Here are some datapoints from 3 campaigns that ran this year (+ wishlist numbers announced by the devs) that blew my mind this week! 🧹💦✨ #CozyGame #CleaningGames

Anyway, one talk was extremely cool and is exactly why I love #Houdini: making a modifyable "rebuild destroyed object" animation 🥺

1) destroy the model procedurally (RBD)
2) build a procedural(🤯) rig that reverse animates it
3) tweak the animation all you want 🔥🔥

Agreed that would be really helpful :o

it's not quite a feed that you can pin for easy access but every starter pack does have a "Posts" tab which sort of acts like one:

Alright, here it is:

I collected ~100 #GameDev starter packs and put them all on one Notion page! ✨

They're categorized by:
🍃 Location
🍃 Discipline
🍃 Game Genre
🍃 & more!

It also includes tips / labellers / block lists that I've stumbled on. I hope this helps you settle in & reconnect! 😊

Loved seeing others' lists, so here are 25 games that have or continue to inspire me as a developer / designer, in no particular order 🍃✨

(except for Journey, it's very intentionally #1 since it convinced me I wanted to work in gamedev 🧡)

If you're at Gamescom you should absolutely check out thatgamecompany's Sky booth!

It's gorgeous and probably the biggest non-violent, non-competitive game booth there (ever?) ✨
