"My thoughts on wider masking… 🧵
Many, including those who are covid-aware, are of the opinion that we’ll never be able to get masking to become widely adopted in society. Perhaps unsurprisingly..."

1. I've said exactly this for quite some time. Expanding on Adrian's @sillyputty78.bsky.social point on X / Twitter here, Covid-19 has three distinct characteristics as a disease that enables it to be denied at a societal level.

11. These three factors: lack of triggering the human disgust mechanism, inability to be generalised, and lack of widespread understanding of sequelae of infection all contribute to the societal denial of the dangers of Covid-19.

Hang one of these on your door to tell everyone to #MaskUp before they come in!
It's especially handy for hospitals or medical offices that don't require staff to wear them at all times (most of them lately 😡), or any other space you want to be more #COVID safe. ⬇️

Excellent presentation that should be a compulsory watch for every healthcare professional (and beyond)!
Doctors: we've accepted too many myths about Covid.
My presentation explains why - and gives you the science you're missing.

Proud to be a co-signatory of this rebuttal.

Thoroughly disproven, harmful opinions have no place in patient care.
Our evidence-based rebuttal to *that* BMJ opinion piece published last week.
This has been authored by a coalition of 19 doctors, scientists and patient advocates from around the world, with now 80+ signatures of support from the scientific community.

Just in case anyone is reading any covid-related documents and clicks the link to the now famous HSE RR619 "Evaluating the protection afforded by surgical masks" they will now get a broken link (404).

HSE have shuffled it out of the way.

Have had the loveliest weekend spending time with friends from the covid cautious community!

Great food, random VR games, broken cars, wise chats, and beautiful views 😊

(We’re all pluslife negative, and reduce our overall risk by always masking in poorly ventilated/crowded settings)

Misuse of the term long covid in clinical practice 🧵

Me: “here’s a clinic letter explaining how all my current symptoms are due to severe B12 deficiency, NOT long covid”

ID consultant letter to my GP: “she’s suffering from symptoms of long covid”

1. I am of the firm belief that it is now impossible to get H5N1 out of the ecosystem of North America. Bluntly put, there is now simply too much virus present in wild birds and mammals to be able to contain it. There are also likely many more human cases than reported.

Probably not nose-blind from exposure to fragrances but from being recurrently infected with a neurotropic virus that causes loss of taste and smell…
Why are all Uber/Lyft/taxis so heavily perfumed? Whether it’s air freshener or the driver’s cologne, it’s so overwhelming. And I’m wearing a tight fitting N95 and can still barely endure it. Has the whole world gone nose-blind from constant exposure to chemical fragrances?🤮
