Folks @ciol-linguists.bsky.social and #translators #t9n we have a real problem if an Oxford academic (Fabian Stephany) has no idea what we do and is advising MSM such as @skynewsrss.bsky.social incorrectly like this. I just hope he’s been misquoted 1/2

My grandmother was a great one for spoonerisms, to the extent they went into family vocabulary and I have trouble pronouncing the non-spoonerised version. Probably the deepest rooted is the two play wug

What happened to the cycling proficiency badge? We all had to do it in primary school on a course coned out on the netball courts. Or maybe that was just my school? (I still have mine somewhere, a posh metal green triangle with a red border and a silver cyclist in the middle)

It’s murky and mizzly up our alp today, so Captain Carrot has quite sensibly decided it’s a much better option to snuggle with Shadow’s cuddly bear
