Cubs using a Rule 5 pick on a 3B capable player seems like interesting timing. But I will say the Cubs have indicated they wanted an upgrade over Mastro as a LHB utility man all offseason so I wouldn't read too much into it.

With as much room as they still have left under the luxury tax (which, I mean, we're giving some grace ALREADY by allowing that to be a "cap" for 2025, apparently), why on earth would the Cubs be efforting to dump Bellinger's contract?

I'm going to watch a few Cleveland games on MLB but I'm not crazy about what Jed gave to Cleveland for Morgan. 17 HR and 20SB for a A*Ball player seems like a lot.
