11 years ago today, 12 year old Tamir Rice was gunned down by police officers on Cleveland’s west side.

The officer shot him within seconds of arriving at the park he was playing in.

Tamir’s life mattered. It still does. My thoughts are with his family today.

The Trump administration’s use of Guantánamo Bay to detain immigrants isn't just cruel — it's illegal.

The government can't weaponize offshore bases to violate people's rights.
Trump Official Says U.S. Can House Migrants at All of Its Overseas Bases
A Justice Department lawyer made the claim in response to a challenge to the administration’s use of the base at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, to hold detainees designated for deportation.

The type of regime that uses military-style raids to tear children out of bed in the middle of the night is an authoritarian one. This is a manufactured crisis and an escalation in force and violence that is traumatizing families. Terrifying scenes in Chicago due to ICE.

Urge Congress to fight monopolies that are price gouging, make companies pay their fair share of taxes, & stop companies from squeezing consumers & supercharging inflation. Fair marketplace competition is good for the economy.

Trump doesn't care about the rule of law, and he doesn't care about D.C. This insulting stunt and abuse of power is all a distraction from his corruption and incompetence.

It's hard to process the historic level of horror and heartbreak here. That the U.S. is complicit in accelerating this genocide is a mix of depressing, infuriating, and shameful.
“As the Israeli government’s siege starves the people of Gaza, aid workers are now joining the same food lines, risking being shot just to feed their families. [H]umanitarian organisations are witnessing their own colleagues and partners waste away before their eyes.”

Women Who Shaped Human Rights ✊🏽📜

Hansa Mehta — a fierce advocate for women’s rights. 🇮🇳♀️

She changed “All men are born free and equal” to “All human beings are born free and equal” in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
