The poems of Michael Rosen are loved by children, which is what qualifies him as a hugely successful writer. As Robert Louis Stevenson knew, success has nothing to do with wealth.

I've checked and you can easily squeeze one or two of these children's books into a Christmas stocking.
My favourite review:
"I am sure many will enjoy this story, but I am not one of them."

40 years ago today, R.M.S. Titanic was discovered by a joint American-French expedition led by Robert Ballard. It’s the perfect day to read The Titanic Detective Agency! All the characters were real life passengers or crew on the doomed ship. #Titanic

Spent a lovely hour at @WaterstonesBrae yesterday afternoon, designing flying machines and making gliders with some delightful children and their parents. Thank you for having me! 🥰📚

It’s publication day for Linnet and the Periwinkle Flyer, set in Victorian Leeds and featuring some weird and wonderful inventions. Stunning cover by the talented Elise Carmichael. Inspired by the magical creations of Percy and Ella Pilcher, Glasgow-based pioneers of flight.

My dad died on Thursday. He was the loveliest man. Who’s going to say “take care of yourself, dear” now?

I get frustrated with the children’s publishing industry and its obsession with celebrities, and sometimes wonder why I bother writing children’s books. And then I get letters like these and know that it matters.

I am so proud of this novel. It's aimed at children but can be enjoyed by anyone interested in the Titanic disaster. All the characters were real-life passengers or crew on the doomed ship and I did so much research to ensure I got my facts right! www.cranachanpublishing.co.uk/product/the-...

I was at the Book Nook in Stewarton first thing this morning and then at Lilias Day for the rest of the day.
Did a reading in the children’s tent and presented the poetry competition awards. Had a lovely day!

This anxiety spinner pin-badge is so me just now. In fact, it probably applies to just about everyone. It’s designed by my daughter Sally of hoyfc.com so don’t dare steal it Temu.

Thoroughly enjoyed our A Dream Plan for Dottie session with talented local artist Kay Nicolson this afternoon at Paisley Central Library. The children were so delightful and making the jewelled crowns was a definite highlight! Huge thanks to Paisley Book Festival for having us.

I love this photo of 12 year old Bertha Watt, taken two days before she boarded Titanic. Teachers, if you're planning to study Titanic this term, there are lots of free resources available to download on my website. lindsaylittleson.co.uk/home/resourc... Happy to email the resources!

This morning, 113 years after this poignant photo was taken, I’m in Leeds for the White Star Heritage exhibition, because people are still fascinated by RMS Titanic. Looking forward to chatting about Titanic all day!

I’m coming down to the fabulous Titanic exhibition in Leeds this weekend to chat about #Titanic and sign copies of The Titanic Detective Agency. If you’re at the exhibition, do come over and say hi!

Happy #NationalUnicornDay 2025. The unicorn has been a symbol of strength and dignity in Scotland for centuries. A group of unicorns is known as a blessing. If you have a unicorn photo, please share!

Had a lovely two days at Stirling Castle’s fabulous Unicorn weekend. Absolutely gorgeous weather, cute unicorns and six talks in the Great Hall about the joys of reading and creative writing. Thank you for having me, @HistEnvScot!

All the characters in my children's novel, The Titanic Detective Agency, were real-life passengers or crew on the doomed ship. The only snag with writing about real people was that I couldn't give them all a happy ending.
