Speaking of things that can't easily be understood if one is "governing in econometrics."
As I have been arguing, the policy outcomes are less important than the political ones: legitimation of Alberta as a distinct, sovereign actor entitled to special treatment, and legitimation of alleged grievances.

The attempt to placate will only embolden, because the goal isn't compromise.

Dear CBS News personalities: The Canadians' ad did not portray Reagan's tariff policy fraudulently, and you do not have to repeat the president's false characterization of it.

Or if your new boss insists that you do, you can at least point out that it's false.

OK, I’m not pulling any punches on this one as the consequences are just way too big.

In the history of colossally stupid & historically self-destructive political choices, giving power to Nigel Farage in the UK could be comparable to giving Trump power in the United States.

Please don’t do it.

RFK Jr. has a new theory on autism. He thinks circumcision could be a factor.

It confirms what many of us have suspected for a long time.

They genuinely believe their brains are in their dicks.

Man, I just read a quote from Carrie Fisher that's going to be burned into my brain forever.

You probably won’t be shocked to hear that after losing his seat in the Canadian election & barely putting any effort into his safe seat “campaign” in Alberta that he needs, Pierre Poilievre STILL refuses to complete the normal security check and try to get the standard, ordinary security clearance.
Reminder: Pierre Poilievre STILL refuses to apply for the normal, usual security clearance, the Canadian media is STILL under-reporting that, and I’m STILL choosing to assume under these dangerous and scary circumstances that it’s because he knows that he wouldn’t pass the security check.

Struggling downtowns look to lure new people. I’m among those interviewed in this.

These Oval Office media meetings between Trump & various world leaders, even if they don’t turn into unhinged bullying sessions as with Ukraine’s President, are seriously just so stupid. Vanity exercises for Trump the narcissist to ramble about whatever, with global leaders being treated as props.

"Shovel ready zones"? Without Indigenous consultation? Not happening. If he had any sense, he'd have paired that promise with a commitment to come to comprehensive deals with individual First Nations to create said zones... that's an actually doable thing.
