Many of the brass are pushing for the F35 but they are all USA kissers.
But I know there must be a large number of pilots who would prefer the Gripen.
They are adrenaline junkies, like me, & the Gripen is made for adrenaline junkies.
Power to weight, Mach2 top speed, super cruise Mach 1.1+, 9G turns
There is far more to this than jobs.
Saab is offering the intellectual property and full control of the Gripens we buy.
That alone should be enough to seal the deal.
The Canadian companies that make parts for the F35 could easily make parts for the Gripen.

Don't let anyone fool you, the Gripen Es like Canada is looking at are as advanced as it gets.
They have world leading capabilities.
Their Meteor missiles are beyond scary.
It can super cruise, Mach 1.1 / 837mph, until it runs out of fuel.
The F35s long range max cruise is 680mph.
