Those are interesting questions. I don’t think having standards technically diminishes the professionalism of teaching. I do think that a hyper focus on standards removes teacher autonomy and prevents teachers from using their pedagogical expertise. #EdChat #EduSky

Some content areas are so mired by standards that the class is more of a script that repeats itself year after year leaving little wiggle room for the teacher to add much meat. #edchat
