A rock solid true story environmental thriller. Greengrass is in his element with this, just pure deftness. Still, doesn’t quite reach the highs or the emotional depth it could and wants to, but it’s hardly from lack of trying. McConaughey fantastic.

Still moving books and dvds, so another Apple TV+ film
Way too rote to really succeed, going through the paces of Adventure film 101, just with that dull modern blockbuster sheen. Maybe Richie’s most pedestrian work, but has the occasional nice flourish. It just doesn’t have it, too pastiche without finding the actual energy it needs.
I’ve gotta completely clear this side of the room and get all the blu rays off that bookshelf before Friday, so I guess it’s time to throw on some random programmer (sorry Guy).

There’s one 2025 movie I keep debating whether to rank as part of my list, and the reason for that is…
It was written and directed by one of my uni teachers, and god knows if she’d remember me, but I’d feel weird about it anyway!

From the outside looking in, it seems to me like a Game of Thrones situation. Not in a “final season so bad that it makes the show bad” way (not that I think that about GoT personally), but in a “the showrunners are clearly desperate to move on but they’re still caught up on their phenomenon” way.

I genuinely think that it is astounding that this game does stay fond to me, despite the second half, imo, is basically a disaster.
