I've often heard gerrymandering cited as a reason the House GOP is so right-wing (and therefore Trump supportive). Since the 1970s and 80s, though, even Republican legislators from swing districts have gotten more ideological. The same isn't true of Democrats. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...
